Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System in Fayetteville, NC seeks an experienced RN Wound Care Specialist to focus on skin care and prevention of skin breakdown, and to manage wound care for patients with acute and chronic wounds.

The role collaborates with interdisciplinary staff, participates in education and performance improvement, and supports cost-effective wound care practices; RN licensure in NC or compact state is required, along with wound care certification.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in North Carolina or compact state licensure.
• Wound care certification required/maintained.
• 3+ years wound care experience highly preferred and Med Surg experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care focused on skin care and wound care management.
• Supports prevention of skin breakdown across units.
• Engages in education and staff development on wound care practices.
• Participates in product evaluation and research related to wound care nursing.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary staff for cost-effective utilization of specialty beds.
• Contributes to continuous improvement and revenue enhancement efforts.
• Engages in performance improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
