Job summary

Swannanoa Valley Health and Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Wound Nurse to join our team in Western NC. The role focuses on wound care, prevention, and coordination with physicians to ensure quality resident care.

The ideal candidate will hold an active NC RN or LPN license, be CPR certified, and have 1–3 years of nursing experience with strong assessment and documentation skills. Join our dedicated team committed to resident well-being.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse with current NC state license.
• Minimum of 1–3 years related nursing experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills.
• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to function independently and work effectively with staff and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive skin care, dressing changes and wound care.
• Monitor turning and positioning of residents.
• Monitor treatment of ulcers with proper documentation and communication to physician and family.
• Make rounds with physician to discuss care of residents with ulcers or catheter care.
• Assess weekly nutrition/hydration for residents with ulcers and adjust intake as needed.
• Maintain clean, orderly treatment cart and restock supplies.
• Follow Infection Control policies and procedures.
• Assist with other special projects and duties as assigned.
