Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• RN license in North Carolina or compact state licensure is required.
• Wound care certification preferred or required per facility.
• Minimum 3 years of wound care clinical practice; 3+ years Med/Surg experience preferred.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; strong teaching ability.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients with skin care and wounds.
• Assists in prevention and management of skin breakdown facility-wide.
• Participates in product evaluation and wound care nursing research activities.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary staff to optimize cost-effective utilization of specialty beds.
• Provides staff education on skin, wound care, and wound VAC use/maintenance.
• Identifies opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost containment.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities and other duties as assigned.
