Job summary

Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, Florida is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Wound Healing Institute on the day shift. The RN will assess wounds, administer care, educate patients, and collaborate with physicians to optimize healing.

Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license or valid multistate license.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Experience in wound care, medical-surgical, home health or related areas.
• Strong assessment, communication and documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive wound assessments and document characteristics, measurements, treatment and progress.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes per physician orders and protocols.
• Assist physicians during wound care procedures and treatments.
• Monitor for infection or complication and communicate concerns promptly.
• Educate patients and families on wound care, infection prevention and nutrition.
• Coordinate care with physicians, home health, pharmacies and DME providers.
• Assist with hyperbaric oxygen therapy prep and monitoring when applicable.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and support quality initiatives.
• Protect patient confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care throughout healing.
