Job summary

Amery Hospital & Clinic in Wisconsin seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Wound Care team on a casual, as-needed basis. The RN will assess, plan, and implement wound care for patients with chronic non-healing wounds and collaborate with physicians on treatment plans.

Responsibilities include wound assessment, documentation, patient and family education, and coordination with rehab and home health services. BLS certification and WI RN licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and WI RN license.
• Current BLS certification required and maintained.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
• Wound care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessment on admission and completes chart forms.
• Assess and interpret reports; communicate findings to the physician.
• Document data, maintain confidentiality, and coordinate with the health care team.
• Assess, stage, measure, and photograph wounds accurately.
• Assist physician with wound therapy.
• Ensure adherence to clinical pathways and address missing components.
• Identify and address patient care needs; implement nursing actions.
• Educate patients and families; assess discharge needs.
• Coordinate orders and charges accurately.
• Collaborate with rehab, nutrition, diabetes education, home health, and other services.
