Job summary

Newport Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Newport, TN is seeking a skilled Wound Care Nurse (RN) to assess, treat, and manage wounds for residents. You will collaborate with the nursing and medical team to develop effective treatment plans and promote healing.

Responsibilities include assessing wounds, documenting progress, educating staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and adjusting plans with physicians.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license in Tennessee.
• Wound care certification (WCC, CWOCN, or similar) preferred.
• Long-term care/skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in working with older adults.

Responsibilities

• Assess, stage, and document wounds (pressure injuries, surgical, skin tears).
• Develop and implement individualized wound care plans with physicians and care team.
• Educate nursing staff on wound prevention, assessment, and treatment best practices.
• Monitor healing progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Ensure wound care documentation complies with state and federal regulations and facility policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by facility management.
