Qualifications

• RN – State of Florida required.
• Bachelor degree in nursing preferred.
• Completion of general and unit orientation and competency checklists.
• Ability to communicate with patients, families and colleagues.
• Certifications as required by unit, plus annual CB learning modules.
• Professionalism and interpersonal communication essential.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient on admission and monitors ongoing status.
• Assesses patient/family learning needs.
• Recognizes and responds to changes in patient condition.
• Documents assessment data on admission and ongoing.
• Plans and coordinates care based on assessment and needs.
• Involves family in the plan of care as desired by the patient.
• Initiates individualized teaching on admission for positive outcomes.
• Implements nursing care per identified needs and rehabilitative goals.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to achieve outcomes.
• Initiates and verifies physician orders.
• Uses nursing judgment in care provision.
• Evaluates patient/family response to interventions.
• Organizes patient care based on needs and resources.
• Acts as patient advocate with compassionate, individualized care.
• Identifies priorities and coordinates care with ancillary services.
