Job summary

Jefferson City Health & Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson City, TN is seeking a Wound Care RN to plan, coordinate, and deliver total nursing care for residents and to supervise clinical staff in wound care.

The role requires RN licensure, CPR, and about two years of nursing experience; the ideal candidate will lead ostomy care, provide guidance to physicians and nurses, develop care plans, and educate staff.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.

Licenses/Certification

• Valid RN license in the state employed.
• Valid CPR certification.

Experience

• Two year of nursing experience preferred.

Essential Functions

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the ostomy care for patients on units.
• Provides advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff for complex wound drainage, drainage confinement, skin protection, and the prevention of pressure necrosis (skin deterioration and skin loss)
• Develops and conducts educational programs for staff.
• Determines appropriate nursing interventions for identified patient problems, symptoms, and teaching needs.
• Develops a patient care plan and determines the equipment, materials, and resources needed to successfully implement the care plan.
• Selects the stoma (opening) site on the patient prior to surgery, based on the patient's anatomy, activity level, and lifestyle.
• Performs related responsibilities as required.
