Job summary

MediLodge of Southfield is seeking a Wound Care RN to provide comprehensive nursing care for residents, coordinate wound management, and supervise clinical staff.

Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited RN program, hold a valid RN license in Michigan, and possess CPR certification. Two years of nursing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates ostomy care for patients on units.
• Provides advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff for wound care and skin protection.
• Develops and conducts educational programs for staff.
• Determines appropriate nursing interventions and prepares patient care plans.
• Selects stoma site prior to surgery based on patient anatomy and lifestyle.
• Performs related responsibilities as required.

Summary

The Wound Care RN plans, coordinates, and provides total nursing care for residents and provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff members in relation to wound care.

Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate of accredited RN School of Nursing.

Experience

• Two year of nursing experience preferred.

Essential Functions

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the ostomy care for patients on units.
• Provides advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff for complex wound drainage, drainage confinement, skin protection, and the prevention of pressure necrosis (skin deterioration and skin loss)
• Develops and conducts educational programs for staff.
• Determines appropriate nursing interventions for identified patient problems, symptoms, and teaching needs.
• Develops a patient care plan and determines the equipment, materials, and resources needed to successfully implement the care plan.
• Selects the stoma (opening) site on the patient prior to surgery, based on the patient's anatomy, activity level, and lifestyle.
• Performs related responsibilities as required.
