Job summary

Skilled Wound Care in Birmingham, AL is hiring Plastic Surgeons to lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities. This no-call role offers a true Monday–Friday schedule with part-time or full-time options, focusing on patient outcomes over cosmetic practice.

You’ll apply wound-healing expertise to debridement, chronic wound management and bedside procedures, with clinical autonomy and no overhead costs.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Unrestricted/clear medical license in the state of practice (or eligibility to obtain one).
• DEA license or eligibility to obtain one.
• No previous wound care experience required; comprehensive training provided.
• Experience with wound healing, debridement or post-acute care is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures.
• Evaluation and treatment of chronic, non-healing and complex wounds, including pressure injuries.
• Advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
• Collaborative care in skilled nursing facilities and the post-acute setting, following patients through healing.
