Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network in Bethlehem, PA seeks an MD or DO physician to provide comprehensive medical services in both practice and hospital settings. You will perform history and physical exams, coordinate patient care, and participate in performance improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate holds medical licensure in the practice state (PA/NJ preferred), may need HBO certification, and is ready to engage in patient education and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical school and completion of residency and/or fellowship in area of specialty.
• MD or DO—licensed by the state licensure board within the state of practice.
• Board Certified/Eligible in the area of specialty by the appropriate medical board.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical examination of all patients seen.
• Provide cost-effective, high-quality care based on best practice evidenced based medicine.
• Make best efforts to adhere to standardized orders and practice guidelines that have been approved by the medical staff.
• Demonstrates competency in assessment, range of treatment, growth and development relevant to patient age.
• Provide regular, timely, and appropriate communication with referring physicians, patients and their families.
• Participates in education of patients and their families.
• Evaluates and implements patient health care needs; initiates treatment and reviews results.
• Coordinates patient care and makes referrals to physicians, nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, etc.
• Coordinates patient care and family counseling with public and mental health agencies as appropriate.
• Teaches wellness habits and educates patients on prevention of health problems.
