Job summary

Cedar Ridge Inn is seeking a dedicated Wound Nurse (RN or LPN) to provide expert wound care to residents and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote healing and quality of life.

Responsibilities include wound assessment, dressing changes, care plan development, and patient education. Strong clinical background, infection control awareness, and commitment to evidence-based practices are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Active New Mexico RN or LPN licensure.
• Wound care certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience, with 1 year in wound care or related field.
• Strong knowledge of wound healing principles and products.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document wound type, severity and stage on admission and during stay.
• Provide routine and advanced wound care, dressing changes, debridement, and use of advanced products.
• Develop and modify individualized care plans with the inter-disciplinary team.
• Educate residents and families on wound prevention and care.
• Document treatments and progress in health records; monitor healing and adjust plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, dietitians, PTs, and others to provide comprehensive wound care.
• Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe care environment.
• Provide staff training on wound care best practices.
• Participate in wound care rounds and quality improvement initiatives.
