Job summary

Community Hospital in Grand Junction, CO seeks a part-time Registered Nurse for wound care. Schedule: 20-24 hours per week; location: inpatient, on-site. Relocation to Grand Junction may be required.

Responsibilities include wound assessment, treatment plan development, aseptic dressing changes, patient and caregiver education, and ongoing progress evaluation. Requires Colorado RN license and CWOCN/WOCN/CWON/COCN certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least two (2) years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
• Current, unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in Colorado.
• Current certification by WOCNB as CWOCN, WCN, CWON, or COCN.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough wound assessments evaluating type, size, depth, and condition.
• Develop and implement individualized wound care treatment plans.
• Perform wound dressing changes using aseptic technique.
• Educate patients and caregivers on wound care, cleansing, dressings, and infection signs.
• Regularly assess progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Monitor for infection, complications, or health changes affecting wound recovery.

Description

Position Highlights:

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients with wounds, evaluating the type, size, depth, and condition of the wound.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the specific needs of each patient and the characteristics of their wounds.
• Perform wound dressing changes using aseptic techniques to minimize the risk of infection.
• Educate patients and their caregivers on proper wound care techniques, including wound cleansing, dressing changes, and signs of infection.
• Regularly assess and reassess the progress of wound healing, adjusting the treatment plan as needed.
• Monitor for signs of infection, complications, or changes in the patient's overall health that may impact wound recovery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least two (2) years of MedicalSurgical nursing (or equivalent).
• Current, unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in Colorado.
• Current certification by Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNB) as a CWOCN, WCN, CWON, or COCN required.

Compensation

• $40.00 - $46.00 per hour, depending on education and experience.
• Bonus: $5,000 (for nurses with 2 or more years of experience)
• Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increase, market adjustments, recognition bonuses, and other forms of discretionary compensation may be available.
