Job summary

Optalis Healthcare in Columbus, OH seeks a dedicated Wound Nurse to coordinate wound care across departments, provide expert nursing care for acute and chronic wounds, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

You will assess and adjust care plans, educate patients and families, mentor staff on wound care best practices, maintain thorough documentation, stay current with techniques and products, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• RN license active in Ohio.
• Wound care certification preferred (WCC, CWS, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years nursing experience, with at least 1 year in wound care or related specialty.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound care treatment plans for patients.
• Coordinate wound care services across departments and with external providers as needed.
• Provide direct nursing care and education to patients and their families regarding wound management and prevention.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of wound assessments, treatments, and patient outcomes.
• Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff on wound care best practices and protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans.
• Stay current with advances in wound care techniques, products, and research.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies related to wound care.
