Job summary

Holy Cross Health is seeking a Wound Care Nurse for Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring. This role focuses on wound, skin, and ostomy care, with patient assessments, care planning, and family education within a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has CWCN/WCC/WOCN certification, 1+ year of wound care experience, an active Maryland RN license, and BLS. The position requires lifting up to 35 pounds and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• CWCN, WCC, or WOCN certification required.
• At least one year of experience as a Wound Care Nurse.
• Current RN license in good standing with the Maryland Board of Nursing
• BLS certification
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
• Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and assist with patient handling and movement
• If not active in direct patient care within the past 5 years, must have completed a nursing refresher course
• Proficiency in English: reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive wound, skin, and ostomy assessments across all age groups
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on clinical findings
• Provide education to patients, families, and staff regarding wound prevention and management
• Collaborate with physicians, providers, and healthcare team members to coordinate optimal patient care
• Support the mission of Holy Cross Health and Trinity Health, delivering care with compassion and excellence
• Deliver care with sensitivity to the unique physical and psychosocial needs of patients, from neonates to geriatric populations
