Job summary

Avantara Chicago Ridge seeks a dedicated Wound Care Nurse to join our skilled nursing and rehabilitation team in Chicago Ridge, IL. The role requires an active Illinois nursing license and CPR certification, with preferred experience in wound care.

You will support the wound care program under the supervision of nursing leadership, assist with resident transfers and positioning, and help monitor clinical changes to ensure safety and high-quality care across short-term and long-term residents.

Qualifications

• Illinois nursing license required.
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year wound care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care to residents under supervision of the Treatment Doctor and wound care team.
• Assist the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing in wound care delivery and patient positioning.
• Assist with lifting, turning and repositioning of residents during treatment.
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and maintain a safe environment for care.
• Maintain ongoing education for residents and staff as part of wound care protocols.

As a Wound Care Nurse you are instrumental in improving the lives of our residents. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at AvantaraChicago Ridge by providing support to the Treatment Doctor and wound care team, assisting the patients with the delivery of wound care services under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and Assistant Director of Nursing, with lifting, turning and repositioning of residents during the delivery of wound care, observing changes in condition, ensuring a safe environment and maintaining education. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, a License, an unencumbered State of Illinois and C.P.R. certification. One (1) year of Wound Care experience is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
