Job summary

Piedmont Walton is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive wound care services in a clinical setting. The role includes evaluating patients, performing diagnostic procedures, and managing treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.

The candidate will document patient data, educate patients, and coordinate therapies, home health care, and post-operative care as needed in a busy wound care clinic.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program with Georgia NP license or PA program with GA license.
• Must hold current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing or PA license.
• ACLS and CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs evaluations for new patients and follow-ups, managing care under supervision.
• Performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures and orders labs and consults.
• Documents patient histories, performs exams and writes progress notes.
• Orders/ interprets labs and communicates with patients about procedures.
• Carries out wound care procedures and debridement; tracks progress with physicians.
• Diagnoses, educates patients, and coordinates post-op or post-discharge care.
• Coordinates home health, DME orders and ostomy care teaching.
• Provides clinical training to staff and serves as resource in wound care.
