Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions in Arkansas is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to provide wound services to residents living in long-term care facilities.

You will diagnose and treat chronic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds, collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team, and coordinate care plans with primary physicians. AR license and board certification are required; DEA license is optional.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Arkansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical wound care background including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Comfort diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds.
• Comfort staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP.
• Familiar with wound care products and DME; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Experience with wound vacs and other DME devices.
• Wound certification preferred or willing to obtain.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• EMR proficiency.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients.
• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances per AR law.
• Order, review, and follow up with treatments and diagnostics.
• Communicate with nursing home staff about changes in condition.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician on care plans.
