Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions in Arkansas is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to deliver wound services to residents in long-term care facilities. You will diagnose and treat wounds, prescribe medications in line with AR law, and coordinate with facility staff.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team using EMR, manage wound VACs and DME, and pursue wound certification. Competitive benefits include sign-on bonus, CME credits, malpractice insurance, and 401K matching.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in Arkansas.
• Board Certification in wound care/geriatric nursing or related field.
• DEA licensure is optional.
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Experience with wound care including chronic, complex wounds.
• Ability to diagnose/treat diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed wounds and Kennedy ulcers.
• Familiar with staging pressure injuries per NPIAP.
• Knowledge of wound care products: collagen, alginates, foams, silvers.
• Experience with wound VACs and related DME.
• Willingness to pursue wound certification.
• Experience in long-term care settings.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe medications in accordance with Arkansas law.
• Order, review, and follow up on treatments and diagnostic tests.
• Communicate with nursing home staff about condition changes.
• Coordinate care plans with the primary care physician and care team.
