Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions seeks a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to provide wound services to residents in long-term care facilities. You will diagnose, treat, and manage wounds while coordinating care with facility staff.

Responsibilities include prescribing medications, ordering treatments, and collaborating with primary care physicians. AR license, board certification, and wound care experience are required; familiarity with EMR and wound VAC/DME is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted NP license in AR.
  • Board Certification.
  • DEA licensure (Optional).
  • Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
  • Clinical background of wound care; including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
  • Must be comfortable diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
  • Must be comfortable staging pressure injuries per NPIAP.
  • Familiar with wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
  • Experience with wound vacs and other DME (pressure-relieving/reducing devices).
  • Strong preference to having wound certification or openness to certification.
  • Experience in a long-term care setting.
  • Ability to work with an EMR.
  • Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
  • Prescribe medications, including controlled substances per AR law.
  • Order, review, and follow up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
  • Communicate with nursing home staff regularly or as needed to discuss changes in condition and the care plan.
  • Collaborate with the primary care physician.
