Job summary

North Houston Transitional Care is seeking a Treatment Nurse to ensure care is delivered per physician orders and facility policies. You will work under the Director of Nursing, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards while maintaining quality care for residents.

You will communicate with residents and families about care plans, document nursing notes, observe wounds, and assist with updating plans. A current RN license and prior long-term care experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two (2) years or more experience, preferably in a long-term care facility.
• Must maintain all required continuing education for licensing.
• Must remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing at all times.

Responsibilities

• Communicate regularly with residents and their family about Plans of Care, PT, OT and other treatment protocols.
• Provide resident care including carrying out physician's orders for care, including providing medication and treatment.
• Accurately observe and assess wounds and function, with prompt notification of physicians of changes or infection.
• Assist in preparing and updating care plans for treatment-related issues.
• Assist physicians and other healthcare providers during visits and examinations.
• Report significant findings or changes in condition to RN Supervisor and/or DON.
• Participate in facility surveys (inspections) as requested by the Administrator or Nursing leadership.
