Job summary

MediLodge of Richmond is seeking a Wound Care RN to plan, coordinate, and provide total nursing care for residents, while supervising clinical staff in wound care. The role emphasizes meaningful impacts on residents and daily collaboration within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Valid RN license in the state employed.
• Two years of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate ostomy care for patients.
• Provide advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff for complex wound care.
• Develop and conduct educational programs for staff.
• Determine appropriate nursing interventions and care plans.
• Select stoma site pre-surgery based on patient anatomy and lifestyle.
• Perform related responsibilities as required.

Summary

The Wound Care RN plans, coordinates, and provides total nursing care for residents and provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff members in relation to wound care.

Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate of accredited RN School of Nursing.

Licenses/Certification

• Valid RN license in the state employed.
• Valid CPR certification.

Experience

• Two year of nursing experience preferred.

Essential Functions

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the ostomy care for patients on units.
• Provides advanced clinical guidance to physicians and nursing staff for complex wound drainage, drainage confinement, skin protection, and the prevention of pressure necrosis (skin deterioration and skin loss)
• Develops and conducts educational programs for staff.
• Determines appropriate nursing interventions for identified patient problems, symptoms, and teaching needs.
• Develops a patient care plan and determines the equipment, materials, and resources needed to successfully implement the care plan.
• Selects the stoma (opening) site on the patient prior to surgery, based on the patient's anatomy, activity level, and lifestyle.
• Performs related responsibilities as required.
