Job summary

The Orchard Church, West Asheville Campus, Asheville, NC is seeking a part-time Worship Coordinator to lead weekly worship, develop new leaders, and coordinate musicians, rehearsals, and production elements.

You will work with the Campus Pastor to craft worship experiences that are prayerful, theologically sound, and aligned with the church’s vision, emphasizing teamwork, excellence, and spiritual growth.

This role requires Sundays on campus plus planning meetings and occasional evenings.

Qualifications

• Evidence of mature Christian faith and growing relationship with Jesus
• Proven excellence as Worship Leader with leadership of a Worship Ministry
• Character aligned with church constitution and faith statements
• Experience in a church environment; ministerial education preferred
• Licensed or Ordained Minister preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly worship services and develop additional worship leaders

Key Responsibilities

Worship Leadership and Planning

• Serve as the primary worship leader for weekly worship services while developing additional worship leaders.


• Collaborate with the Campus Pastor in planning worship services that are prayerful, theologically sound, engaging, and aligned with the vision of The Orchard Church.


• Coordinate music, musicians, vocalists, rehearsals, and other worship elements necessary for effective services and events.


• Cultivate a worship culture centered on spiritual preparation, humility, excellence, teamwork, and authentic worship.

Creative Team Leadership and Development

• Shepherd and develop the Creative Team (Worship, Tech, and Communications), investing relationally and spiritually in volunteers while equipping them to use their gifts and grow as leaders.


• Recruit and develop leaders while building sustainable teams and systems that create ministry depth and multiply ministry beyond what one staff member can accomplish.


• Provide oversight for the people, systems, and equipment necessary to execute worship and creative environments with excellence.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Campus Pastor to establish and evaluate annual goals for Worship and Creative Ministries.


• Provide direction for Communications, empowering the Creative Team to effectively communicate the life, mission, and ministry of The Orchard Church.


• Contribute musical and creative leadership to broader church events while maintaining wise stewardship of ministry resources.


• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and retreats.


• Other duties as assigned by the Campus Pastor.

Qualifications

• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing personal relationship with Him.


• Demonstrated excellence as a Worship Leader with successful leadership of a Worship Ministry in recent years.


• Evidence of moral character and lifestyle consistent with The Orchard Church's Constitution, Bylaws, and Statement of Faith.


• Commitment to the mission, vision, and worship philosophy of The Orchard Church.


• Previous experience in a church environment required; ministerial education or a demonstrated history of successful ministry leadership preferred.


• Licensed or Ordained Minister preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Demonstrates a heart for ministry, a willingness to serve, and an understanding of the cultural and social environment of the church and surrounding community.


• Communicates effectively and professionally with staff, volunteers, church members, and the community while exercising appropriate discretion in personal and confidential situations.


• Possesses working knowledge of sound, production equipment, media tools, and technology relevant to worship and creative ministry.


• Demonstrates the ability to shepherd, organize, equip, and develop volunteers and leaders within a team-based ministry environment.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Primarily Sundays with weekday office hours; rehearsals, planning sessions, meetings, and occasional evening responsibilities.


• Work may occur in office, church, community, indoor, and outdoor environments and may require travel to various locations.


• Requires walking, standing, sitting, occasional waiting, light lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling.


• Must be able to manage the varying demands on time and energy associated with a ministry environment.
