Job summary

CCBC is seeking creative and experienced World Language instructors to join our program. Courses run from beginner to high-intermediate levels in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish, with day, evening, and fully online offerings.

Instructors may teach on the Catonsville and Essex campuses, external high school locations, and asynchronously online. Adjuncts may teach up to 9 credits and will complete required employment forms.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in the language taught, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, or related field.
• Two years of experience teaching a world language at college, high school, or accredited language school.
• Experience teaching at the college level preferred.
• Strong instructional technology and LMS skills; Brightspace preferred.
• Experience working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Teach world language courses from beginner to high-intermediate levels.
• Deliver classes in Catonsville and Essex campuses, external high school locations, and fully asynchronous online formats.
• Complete college employment forms and documentation.

CCBC is seeking creative and experienced World Language instructors to join our program. We offer classes at beginning to high-intermediate levels of Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. Instructors should have fluency, expertise and experience teaching one of the languages offered. We offer classes during the day and in the evenings on our Catonsville and Essex campuses and in external high school locations. We also offer fully asynchronous online classes (additional qualifications are required). Adjunct instructors may teach up to 9 credits.

Instructors will be required to complete forms and documentation required by the college for employment.

Pay Level: $1,085 per credit hour

Locations: Catonsville campus, Essex campus, External High School Locations & Online

Minimum Requirements:

• A Master's Degree in the language taught, Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.
• Two (2) years of experience teaching a world language in a college, high school, or accredited language school.
• Experience teaching world language at the college-level preferred.
• Strong instructional technology and learning management (LMS) skills
• Use of Brightspace is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
