Job summary

Texas A&M University’s MPIM Department invites applications for a tenured Professor to serve as Department Head of Microbial Pathogenesis and Immunology. This full-time, 11-month appointment seeks a scholar with leadership experience to guide research, education, and service across the college and university.

The successful candidate will lead strategic initiatives, foster collaborations across basic and clinical sciences, mentor faculty and trainees, and steward departmental resources toward

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, DVM or other equivalent degree(s) in a relevant area (e.g., Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Pathology).
• Examples of successful collaborative academic leadership and mentorship of students and faculty.

Responsibilities

• Research: Define and implement a collective vision to expand basic and translational research.
• Teaching: Advance medical and graduate education in collaboration with college leadership.
• Service: Lead department to enhance reputation and foster external partnerships.
• Administration/Leadership: Manage budget, resources, and strategic planning for departmental excellence.
