Qualifications

• PhD, MD, DVM or other equivalent degree in a relevant area (e.g., Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Pathology).
• Current academic rank of tenured Professor.
• Distinguished record of outstanding scientific achievements with sustained extramural funding and recognition.
• Experience developing and mentoring faculty and recruiting leadership.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the department in research, teaching, service, and budget oversight.
• Provide vision to expand basic and translational research and promote commercialization of discoveries.
• Mentor trainees and faculty; recruit and develop leadership within the department.
• Foster collaboration with basic sciences, clinical partners, and other Texas A&M University colleges.
