Position Summary

This role supports the University of Alberta Transportation Services by performing key tasks, including light vehicle inspections (checking tires, body damage, steering, suspension, fluid levels, leaks, belts, and hoses), regular engine oil and filter changes. You'll also coordinate vehicle drop-offs and pick-ups with customers. Before issuing vehicles to clients, you'll wash, clean, and inspect them for damage, and check them again upon return. Other duties involve tire services using standard tire equipment (removal, installation, repair, balancing), minor mechanical tasks, fueling, windshield repair, and general shop maintenance and cleaning. Excellent customer service is a must.

  • Vehicle preparation, cleaning, dispatch and returns
  • Vehicle preventative maintenance
  • Tire and Glass repairs
  • New Vehicle Setup
  • Prepare used vehicles for disposal
  • Support Journeyman Technicians as required
  • Vehicle shuttles

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 10
  • Class 5 driver's license
  • Clean driver's abstract
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform light vehicle maintenance
  • Physically able to lift up to 50lb - 80lb, climb, walk, bend and kneel often
  • General computer skills and familiarity with Word, Excel, Gmail and Google Drive

Preferred Qualifications

  • Class 4 driver's license
  • Experience with Fleet Management systems
  • Previous experience working with light-duty vehicles
