Google’s Workplace Services Projects Program Lead will provide strategic direction and governance for a major portfolio of facilities projects in the Bay Area, balancing occupied space needs with existing operations. You will manage vendor relationships, set expectations, and drive continuous improvements to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You will work in a matrix environment, collaborating with REWS teams, vendors, and Google business functions to ensure velocity, accountability, and value

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience required.
  • 7 years of experience in project/program management, construction, or capital project consulting in technology, pharma, or CIP operating organizations.
  • Experience presenting to executive leaders verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Direct facilities capital planning and REWS-aligned strategies, establish metrics and leading indicators.
  • Partner with stakeholders and vendors to support service providers and drive program improvements.
  • Manage capital project governance and evolve delivery models for Google’s scale.
  • Collaborate on technology and process improvements, leveraging enterprise AI tools.
  • Maintain a strategic, can-do approach to operations and governance, with agility for deep-dives when needed.

Minimum qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, a management field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 7 years of experience in project/program management, construction, or capital project consulting roles in Technology, Pharma, or CIP operating organizations.

  • Experience presenting to executive leaders verbally and in writing.



Preferred qualifications


  • Professional Engineer, PMP Certification, or Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) Certification.

  • Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Management, or any technical discipline.

  • Experience in industry leading approaches to capital planning, project controls, procurement, contract management, and project management technology.

  • Experience analyzing and presenting data to others.

  • Ability to bring creative, innovative solutions that challenge the norm with the objective of enhancing organizational function, enabling team productivity, and delivering exceptional outcomes to the business.

  • Exceptional communication skills and comfortable presenting to and receiving direct feedback from executive leadership.



About The Job

The Workplace Services Projects Program consists of a large portfolio of facilities related projects across Google’s Bay Area region. Projects Include, but are not limited to, a mix of end of life infrastructure, agile building needs, sustainability initiatives and small scale Research and Development (R&D) labs for our Product Areas (PAs). The program focuses on delivering projects in occupied spaces with existing building operations being a key priority.



As the Workplace Services Projects Program Lead, you will provide strategic direction and governance to the vendor service provider that partners with us on project management services. You will work in a highly matrix organization, build trust in difficult situations, get consensus from leaders with opinions, drive decision-making where trade-offs are required, and balance innovation with predictability. And most importantly operate with the velocity needed in the current Google environment. You will build effective strategic relationships within the REWS Team, with our vendor service providers, and within the business functions of Google.You will set expectations within the team, drive continuous improvement and accountability, and implement processes to achieve high-quality outcomes, value and efficiency, and end user satisfaction.



Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.



US: $157000 - $227000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Direct facilities capital planning and REWS-aligned strategies, establishing performance metrics and leading indicators to adaptively monitor progress and align with changing business priorities.

  • Partner with key stakeholders, functional leads, and vendors to support service providers, recommend yearly program improvements, and drive AI-native project operations.

  • Manage capital project governance and performance, evolving delivery models and programs through insightful leadership as Google’s agile business scales.

  • Collaborate across REWS on technology and process improvements, leveraging industry expertise and modeling team-wide enterprise AI tool and agent adoption.

  • Maintain a can-do, strategic approach to operations and governance, with the agility to perform occasional deep dives on specific projects.
