Auburn University is seeking a student assistant to support landscaping and grounds maintenance across campus. Responsibilities include planting, mulching, weed control, and assisting with event setups to enhance campus aesthetics.
You will work with the Facilities Management team, follow safety guidelines, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic outdoor environment. Must be enrolled and capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Landscaping & Lawn Care: o Maintaining flower and shrub beds, and weeding areas around campus. o Planting, watering, and maintaining seasonal flowers, shrubs, and trees. o Assisting with mulching and other gardening tasks as required. o Removal of limbs from the campus grounds. 2. Cleaning and Maintenance: o Emptying trash cans and recycling bins around campus grounds. o Blowing sidewalks, parking lots, and other outdoor pathways. o Cleaning outdoor spaces such as courtyards, patios, and seating areas. o Removal of trash and other debris from campus grounds. 3. General Grounds Upkeep: o Maintaining outdoor equipment, tools, and vehicles used for groundskeeping. o Performing minor repairs on outdoor facilities and structures (e.g., benches, fences, etc.). 4. Assisting with Special Projects: o Helping with event setups, including arranging outdoor spaces for campus events and activities. o Supporting campus beautification initiatives and sustainability projects. 5. Safety & Compliance: o Ensuring that all safety guidelines and procedures are followed when using groundskeeping equipment and materials. o Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing tasks. o Reporting any hazards or concerns to the supervisor promptly.
