Job Title: Grading Foreman – North Alabama Operations
Rogers Group Inc. seeks an experienced grading foreman to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation in the North Alabama area, reporting directly to the Area Construction Manager. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership in existing and future operations.
Job Details:
- Planning, supervision, and documentation of Mass Grading/Finish Grade Operations.
- Training personnel in setting grade, equipment operation, and excavation/grading tasks related to commercial grading.
- Starting wages at $30.00/hr, based on verifiable experience.
- Planning and supervision of grading activities and utility installations, including training staff.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee grading activities, utility installations, and safety procedures.
- Lead, coach, and model safety and operational policies.
- Manage safety, scheduling, workforce planning, and cost control.
- Supervise field employees in site, road, and subdivision construction, including excavation, filling, compaction, and utility installation.
- Coordinate with surveyors and engineers for field layout and sequencing.
- Inspect sites for safety hazards and ensure compliance with sediment and erosion regulations.
- Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts and deficiencies.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and complete JSAs.
- Evaluate crew members' capabilities and address issues.
- Manage equipment and vehicle use, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years supervisory experience in grading operations.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- 3+ years of heavy equipment operation experience.
- Ability to read grade stakes and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, extended hours, and in all weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass drug and physical tests.
- Adherence to safety standards and policies.
