Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, is seeking a Workforce Specialist in Summerville, SC. You will implement services, assess needs, and support individuals and families toward long-term wellness in a residential and community setting.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma (a bachelor’s degree may substitute for the required experience).

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma; a bachelor’s degree may substitute for the required experience.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules and regulations related to the area of responsibility.
• Ability to counsel with clients and plan/train effective activities.
• Ability to observe, interpret behavior and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Implements services for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in group settings, including leisure and daily living skills.
• Completes assessments and implements programs based on assessed needs.
• Completes documentation including objectives, attendance, and payroll reports.
• Provides training in self-help skills to consumers and acts as coverage staff in residential units.
• Offers guidance to Direct Support Professionals in care and training.
