Job summary

The State of Nevada, Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR) is hiring a Workforce Services Representative 1 for the Reno EmployNV Career Hub. The role involves assisting unemployment claimants with resumes, job search planning, and eligibility assessments while guiding clients through job boards and training opportunities.

As a trainee level, the incumbent will progress to Workforce Services Representative 2 upon meeting minimum qualifications and authority approval.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education with two years of general work experience.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Under close supervision, this trainee level provides for progression to the next level upon satisfactory training and minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Interview customers to gather education, training, and employment goals.
• Assist customers in registering for services and searching current job listings.
• Refer qualified customers to employers and verify referrals.
