This position is an entry point for the pool of qualified applicants to be selected for anticipated part-time temporary positions working under the guidance of the Texas State Technical College Corporate College. Instructors may be required to develop customized training curriculum and/or provide instruction for workforce development and industrial training clients.
The Workforce Training Instructor - is responsible for delivering high-quality, industry-focused training to adult learners, employers, and workforce development participants throughout the state of Texas. This part-time position provides instruction in business, management, leadership, project management, workplace communication, customer service, critical thinking, quality improvement, office technology, and other professional skills. The instructor will facilitate engaging, practical learning experiences designed to help participants develop skills that can be immediately applied in the workplace. Training may be delivered in person at employer or campus locations throughout Texas. The successful candidate will bring a combination of professional experience, instructional ability, and practical knowledge of today’s workplace. The position requires significant statewide travel and the ability to adapt training content and delivery methods to meet the needs of diverse industries, organizations, and adult learners.
Deliver instructor-led workforce training programs for adult learners in business, leadership, management, professional development, technology, and workplace skills.
Facilitate courses in areas such as:
Deliver both introductory and intermediate/advanced training based on participant skill levels and employer needs.
Facilitate interactive learning activities, discussions, demonstrations, simulations, group exercises, and hands‑on activities.
Maintain current knowledge of business practices, leadership principles, project management methodologies, workplace technology, quality improvement practices, and emerging workforce trends.
Work with workforce development staff and employer partners to understand training objectives and customize instructional content when appropriate.
Provide a professional and engaging learning environment that encourages participation, collaboration, critical thinking, and practical application.
Represent the institution professionally when delivering training at employer worksites, campuses, conferences, and other locations.
Travel extensively throughout Texas to provide on‑site workforce training.
Maintain flexibility to accommodate varying training schedules, locations, and employer needs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
This is a part-time, statewide workforce training position. The instructor may be required to travel extensively throughout Texas to deliver training at employer worksites, educational facilities, campuses, conference locations, and other designated training locations. Training schedules may vary based on employer and workforce development needs and may include daytime, evening, or occasional weekend assignments. The position requires the ability to:
