Technology, Data, AI and Ventures:

Within the Tech, Data, AI, Ventures (TDAV) organization, our work is guided by a shared vision: deploying the power of technology, data, AI and ventures to accelerate sustainable competitive advantage for New York Life's businesses. We build solutions that power how we serve policy owners, agents, advisors and employees while delivering measurable business outcomes.

Across technology, data, AI, cyber, product, digital experience, architecture and infrastructure, TDAV combines the scale and investment of an industry leader, access to leading-edge technologies and the opportunity to help shape how a world-class financial services company competes in the AI era - all backed by the stability and purpose of a mutual company built to last.

Role Overview

New York Life is seeking a Workforce Planning & Operations Associate to support workforce planning, analytics, operational excellence, and cross-functional execution across the Technology, Data, AI & Ventures (TDAV) organization. This role will partner with workforce leaders, business and portfolio teams, and enterprise stakeholders to execute workforce initiatives, strengthen workforce planning and reporting, and improve the processes and operating rhythms that enable effective workforce management.

The ideal candidate is a structured thinker, strong problem solver, and effective communicator who enjoys working at the intersection of data, business strategy, and operations. This individual will support workforce planning and operations for assigned teams within TDAV, develop workforce insights and planning frameworks, coordinate operational processes, and help leaders translate business and technology priorities into actionable workforce plans.

This role offers broad exposure to how a large technology organization plans, manages, and evolves its workforce—connecting technology strategy, workforce demand, talent and hiring, financial planning, and organizational priorities. The Associate will work across TDAV and enterprise functions to analyze workforce needs, develop insights, improve workforce processes, and help leaders make informed workforce decisions.

What You'll Do

Support workforce planning and execution for assigned TDAV teams, including headcount planning, workforce demand, hiring needs, workforce movements, organizational changes, and related workforce activities.

Support annual and multi-year workforce planning, helping connect business and technology priorities with workforce demand, financial plans, organizational priorities, workforce metrics, and progress against plans.

Develop workforce analytics, reporting, and insights by analyzing headcount, hiring, vacancies, workforce mix, organizational structure, and other workforce data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and potential actions.

Partner with business and portfolio leaders to understand workforce needs and help translate business priorities, technology roadmaps, investment plans, and organizational objectives into workforce requirements and plans.

Coordinate workforce operating processes and planning cadences, helping ensure workforce plans, hiring activity, organizational data, decisions, and related actions are accurate, timely, and aligned across stakeholders.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve workforce processes, tools, analytics, and ways of working, helping simplify activities, increase data quality, reduce manual effort, and improve the stakeholder experience.

Drive and support cross-functional workforce initiatives from problem definition through execution, including conducting analysis, developing workplans, coordinating stakeholders, tracking actions and dependencies, measuring outcomes, and escalating risks as appropriate.

Develop executive-ready presentations, reporting, and communications that translate workforce data and complex operational topics into clear insights, recommendations, and decision points for leadership.

Support workforce data quality and integrity by identifying and resolving discrepancies across workforce plans, organizational data, hiring activity, financial information, and reporting.

Serve as a workforce operations partner across TDAV and enterprise functions, including Finance, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Procurement, Sourcing, and other teams, to facilitate workforce processes and enable effective cross-functional execution.
