Literacy Pittsburgh is seeking a Workforce/Partner Instructor to lead college and career-focused classes across partner sites in Western Pennsylvania. This full-time exempt role emphasizes high-quality instruction and student support to help learners achieve their goals.

You will teach in-person or remote classes, assess students, develop standards-aligned lesson plans, and participate in program improvement, compliance, and cross-team collaboration. Experience teaching adults is preferred.

  • Collect, analyze, and monitor student performance data for program improvement and compliance.
  • Participate with internal committees and external partnerships; follow agency protocols.

Workforce/Partner Instructor

Full Time Professional Pennsylvania PA, Pittsburgh, PA, US

Salary Range: $41,000.00 To $43,768.00 Annually

Summary

The instructor is responsible for leading a variety of assigned Literacy Pittsburgh college and credential-bearing career focused classes across a variety of partner sites in Western Pennsylvania. The instructor ensures a high-quality experience for students by providing excellent student instruction and support to advance student learning and goal attainment. The instructor is an adaptable and self-directed team player with strong communication skills that engage a diverse range of adult learners. This is a full time exempt position.

Essential Functions

Teaching, Learning and Support

  • Teach assigned classes in designated locations, in-person and/or via remote instruction.
  • Provide support and referrals for students to address barriers and transition needs, as related to program participation.
  • Arrange for assessment and evaluation of students.
  • Creating standards-aligned lesson plans and related materials for all assigned class sessions, saving all required documentation into a centrally accessible folder.

Program Improvement and Compliance

  • Actively engage in professional development and on-going training to ensure high-quality teaching that leads to strong student outcomes.
  • Collect, analyze, and monitor key student performance data, including attendance hours, student assessment scores, learning objectives, student feedback, and outcomes for state and federal compliance, student learning objectives, and overall program improvement.
  • Monitor progress and solve problems to ensure program compliance with applicable state, federal, and other grant requirements.

Teamwork

  • Participate with internal agency committees and teams, as well as relevant external partnerships.
  • Follow agency protocols and processes for effective service delivery.
  • Show leadership by offering expertise locally and regionally.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
  • Experience in teaching adults preferred

Additional Eligibility Requirements
  • Act 33/34 clearances
  • Full-time, some evening work required.
  • This position requires use of personal vehicle for local travel.
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Requires the ability to lift, pull and push up to 40 pounds.
