Job description

Overview

The Manager, Workforce Management Technology will lead the strategy, transformation, optimization, and ongoing performance of a complex enterprise Workforce Management environment supporting a large hourly workforce. This role requires a proven UKG expert and hands-on technology leader who understands the platform deeply, can lead major implementations and transformation initiatives, and knows how to turn strategy into execution.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with UKG Pro Workforce Management (Dimensions) and UKG Workforce Central (WFC), ideally including implementations, migrations, or large-scale deployments. Just as important, this person is a proven leader who gets things done—someone who can bring structure to complexity, hold teams and partners accountable, solve problems quickly, and drive initiatives through completion.

Partnering across Retail and Distribution Center Operations, HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Technology, this leader will own the WFM technology landscape while building a high-performing team and ensuring the platform remains scalable, reliable, compliant, and positioned for the future.

Responsibilities
UKG Platform Leadership & Transformation
  • Own the strategy, roadmap, optimization, and lifecycle of UKG Pro Workforce Management (Dimensions) and UKG Workforce Central (WFC)
  • Serve as a subject matter expert across Timekeeping, Scheduling, Labor Forecasting, Attendance, Accruals, Absence Management, Workforce Analytics, Mobile, Devices, pay/work rules, and labor compliance
  • Lead major UKG implementations, WFC-to-UKG Pro WFM migrations, upgrades, deployments, and feature releases
  • Evaluate the current WFM environment, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate those opportunities into clear, executable plans
  • Drive platform modernization and ensure WFM capabilities continue to meet evolving business and workforce needs
Execution & Delivery
  • Take ownership of complex initiatives from strategy and requirements through testing, cutover, hypercare, and steady-state support
  • Create structure, establish priorities, remove roadblocks, and drive teams toward decisions and deliverables
  • Manage competing priorities, dependencies, risks, and critical issues while maintaining momentum
  • Hold internal teams, vendors, implementation partners, and managed service providers accountable for commitments, quality, and results
  • Ensure projects and platform enhancements are delivered on time and achieve the intended business outcomes
Business Partnership & Integration
  • Partner closely with Retail and Distribution Center Operations, HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Technology to understand business needs and translate them into scalable WFM solutions
  • Govern integrations between UKG and HR, Payroll, ERP, Identity and Access Management, retail systems, reporting, analytics, APIs, middleware, and other enterprise platforms
  • Ensure data integrity and reliable time-to-pay processes across the WFM ecosystem
  • Translate complex technology issues and recommendations into clear business language for leaders and stakeholders
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of employees, contractors, implementation partners, and service providers
  • Establish clear expectations, priorities, ownership, and measures of success
  • Develop talent while creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
  • Build alignment across teams with different priorities and drive decisions when issues or projects become stalled
  • Manage strategic UKG and vendor relationships to ensure strong delivery and service performance
Operational Excellence & Governance
  • Own production support, incident and problem management, root-cause analysis, releases, change management, monitoring, and preventive improvements
  • Ensure availability, stability, performance, and supportability of business-critical WFM applications
  • Strengthen governance, service levels, operational metrics, controls, and support processes
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations, payroll requirements, SOX controls, audit expectations, security standards, and enterprise governance
  • Identify opportunities to automate and simplify processes while improving labor efficiency, payroll accuracy, compliance, and the associate and manager experience
Qualifications
Required
  • 7+ years of progressive Workforce Management technology experience, including enterprise implementations, application management, production support, and transformation initiatives
  • Deep hands-on expertise with UKG Pro Workforce Management (Dimensions) and/or UKG Workforce Central (WFC)
  • Proven experience owning and optimizing UKG within a complex enterprise environment—not simply participating as a business user or peripheral project partner
  • Strong experience across Timekeeping, Scheduling, Labor Forecasting, Attendance, Accruals, Absence Management, pay/work rules, Workforce Analytics, and workforce compliance
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex WFM initiatives from planning through implementation and operational support
  • Strong understanding of integrations across WFM, HR, Payroll, ERP, Identity and Access Management, reporting, analytics, middleware, APIs, and related systems
  • Experience supporting mission-critical applications and leading incident, problem, change, release, and vendor management
  • Proven people leadership with experience developing teams, setting expectations, driving accountability, and delivering results
  • Strong business partnership skills with the ability to influence across Operations, HR, Payroll, Finance, Technology, and executive stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to take ownership, remove roadblocks, and drive work through completion
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred
  • Direct experience leading a UKG implementation, WFC-to-UKG Pro WFM migration, or large-scale UKG deployment
  • UKG Pro WFM and/or UKG Workforce Central certifications
  • Experience supporting a large hourly workforce within retail, distribution, or another complex multi-location environment
  • Experience with multi-country or multi-jurisdiction labor requirements
  • Experience with Boomi and complex enterprise integration environments
