Bechtel Global Corporation in Clay, NY seeks a Workforce Development (WFD) Trainer to evaluate and train craft professionals across carpentry, electrical, welding, and related trades on a project site.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree or international equivalent; 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years in lieu.

• Evaluates craft training needs and recommends program enhancements to project teams.

Job Summary:

Workforce Development (WFD) Trainer to be an integral part of a project. Responsible for primarily the evaluation and training of craft professional skills and secondary specialties which include, but are not limited to: Carpenter, Cement Finisher, Electrical, Equipment operation, Millwright, Carpentry, Concrete, Welding, Rebar and Structural Iron-Working. Reports directly to the Workforce Development Supervisor. #LI-TH1

Major Responsibilities:

Supervision Received

• Receives operational and functional supervision from a WFD Supervisor/Manager, Labor Relations (LR) Manager or a Labor Relations Supervisor.

Contacts

• Has regular contact with the Craft Professional workforce and/or general public.
• Has regular contact with Union Training Centers and their staff
• Regularly interfaces with Labor Relations, Employee Safety and Health (ES&H), and Construction Management.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. Supports craft professional skills evaluation, training and certification program on the project.
2. Project specific training.
3. Ensures that the training and assessment programs are consistent with the Craft Assessment Program (CAP) guidelines and procedures.
4. Provides training to all levels of Craft Professionals, apprentices, journeyman, foreman and general foreman.
5. Administers craft certification, upskilling, and evaluation program, including skills assessments and CAP.
6. Responsible for Craft Competency Compliance to ES&H core processes and Standard Work Processes and Procedures (SWPP's).
7. Evaluates craft training needs and makes recommendations to the Project Workforce Development, Labor Relations, and Construction Management team for consideration of additional program development or project support.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Must have construction project experience.
• Must possess mastery of one or more craft discipline skill sets.
• Must have Union Training Program experience.
• Good analytical and strategic planning skills: able to prioritize, balance short and long-term priorities.
• Good understanding of construction industry.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
