Lamar State College-Port Arthur is looking for a full-time Workforce Development Counselor to assist prospective students and represent the department at events. The role includes providing enrollment guidance and tracking student performance.

The Workforce Development Counselor has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, providing information and assistance to prospective students and representing the department at events. This is a full-time position that reports to the Workforce Development and Continuing Education Department.
This position requires employees to remain in a stationary position most of the time; move to various locations on campus; move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; and operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.
Social Requirements:This position is student facing and requires extensive social contact. Employees must be prepared to work closely with students, work closely with employers (both in person and by phone), be active in job fairs and recruiting fairs, and to present program related materials in public venues.
Travel:Primary office will be on the main campus in Port Arthur, but duties may include travel to offsite locations and branch campuses. Other occasional travel may be required.
Work Hours:Monday – Friday; 40 hours per week May require occasional early morning, evening or weekend hours.
