Job summary

South Plains Community Action Association, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Case Manager to help customers progress toward self-sufficiency. You will conduct case management, document activities in WIT and Laserfiche, and provide supportive services to eligible clients.

Responsibilities include guiding TANF, NCP, and SNAP E&T participants, collaborating with staff, and traveling to homes or training sites as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s in social work preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources and case management principles.
• Ability to assess needs, guide staff, and determine eligibility using income/eligibility criteria.

Job Summary

Will work with customers to provide direction in developing the best and quickest route to self-sufficiency. Conducts case management activities and provides supportive services to eligible customers. May work with TANF, Non-Custodial Parent and SNAP E&T customers to provide direction in developing the best and quickest route to self-sufficiency. The case manager will document case management activities and services provided to customers in WorkinTexas, (WIT), Laserfiche and other software applications. Conducts case management activities and provides supportive services to eligible customers on a as need basis.

Requirements

• Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use the Internet and Microsoft Office products. Keyboarding skills are mandatory. Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent people skills and customer service orientation. Strong oral and written communication skills.


• Knowledge of community resources and case management principles, including Objectives, standards, and methods. Familiar with structured program policies and procedures. Ability to assess customer needs, provide guidance to other staff, and assist with various case management activities. Ability to accurately calculate income levels. Ability to analyze participants’ documents to determine eligibility. Ability to read and interpret eligibility requirements. Ability to properly administer and score assessment instruments.


• Knowledge of, or ability to, learn and use, WIT, and other automated reporting software/systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). The ability to make frequent visits to the homes of assigned customers, and training provider sites, where appropriate. Ability to communicate professionally, and effectively, with customers, vendors, administration, and other employees. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to travel within the service area.

Education And Experience

A high school diploma or GED is required. A bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be substituted for a degree. Training experience in social work, counseling, career planning, placement, or related field desired.
