Job summary

Maryland Legal Aid in Baltimore City seeks an experienced, highly organized Paralegal for the Workers’ Rights Unit to support attorneys in wage theft and misclassification matters.

You will conduct intake, manage cases, draft pleadings, filings, and assist with data for policy work, community outreach, and hearings. This is a full-time role with a hybrid work model and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Commitment to worker-centered, client-oriented advocacy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys, staff, and community partners.
• Experience with public speaking and facilitating meetings with diverse populations.
• Evening and weekend hours may be required.
• Fluency in Spanish is highly valued but not required.
• Experience in a law firm or public interest/employment law is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough intake interviews and case management support.
• Assist with legal research, investigation, and drafting of pleadings.
• Support attorneys in preparing cases for litigation and hearings.
• Help gather data for policy, legislative, and community-driven strategies.
• Participate in community outreach and Know Your Rights presentations.
• Plan and facilitate community meetings, clinics, and informational sessions.
