You will own your caseload from evaluation to resolution, develop case strategies, file motions, and represent clients at depositions, mediations, hearings, and settlements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Poulin | Willey is seeking a Workers' Compensation Lawyer to join our growing team in North Carolina. This role requires an active North Carolina law license in good standing.

We are looking for an attorney who can take ownership of their caseload, advocate effectively for injured workers, and move claims from initial evaluation through settlement, hearing, or appeal.

What You Will Do

• Manage workers' compensation claims from initial evaluation through resolution.
• Develop case strategy and evaluate medical, wage, disability, and causation evidence.
• Draft and file claims, motions, discovery, briefs, and settlement documents.
• Represent clients in depositions, mediations, hearings, and settlement conferences.
• Negotiate with employers, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.
• Maintain strong client communication throughout the life of the claim.
• Collaborate with paralegals and legal support staff to keep cases moving forward.

Requirements

• Active North Carolina law license in good standing.
• Workers' compensation, civil litigation, insurance defense, plaintiff-side advocacy, or related experience.
• Claimant-side workers' compensation experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong negotiation, advocacy, writing, and client communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and competing deadlines.

Note: This role can sit anywhere in North Carolina! Candidates must have an active North Carolina law license in good standing. Compensation includes a base salary of $75,000 plus bonus opportunities.
