Hamilton Miller & Birthisel LLP is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to manage cases from intake through resolution, including discovery, depositions, motions, and hearings. Strong written and verbal communication, judgment, organization, and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
• 1-3 years of workers' compensation defense experience.
• Civil litigation defense experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Manages workers' compensation defense cases from intake through resolution.
• Conducts discovery, including drafting/responding to requests and reviewing records.
• Conducts and defends depositions of claimants, witnesses, and experts.
• Drafts, argues, and responds to evidentiary and procedural motions.
• Prepares case evaluations, analyses, and status reports per client guidelines.
• Drafts pleadings, settlement proposals, and correspondence; represents clients at hearings, mediations, and court appearances (periodic travel required).
• Maintains accurate, timely billing and documentation in accordance with firm and client standards.
• Coordinates case tasks with paralegals and support staff.
• Participates in internal meetings and incorporates feedback from supervising attorneys.
