Job summary

LOJNG, Inc is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join our growing California team. The ideal candidate will independently handle all defense matters, including depositions, hearings, and trial preparation, while maintaining direct client contact and collaborating with claims professionals.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license is required.
• California workers' compensation defense experience preferred.
• Strong deposition and litigation skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage cases from assignment through resolution.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Attend hearings, conferences, and WCAB trials.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings.
• Communicate directly with clients, claims professionals, and opposing counsel.
• Develop litigation strategy and evaluate exposure.
• Manage discovery and medical-legal issues.

About the Position

The ideal candidate will independently handle all aspects of California workers' compensation defense matters, including:

• Managing cases from assignment through resolution
• Taking and defending depositions
• Attending hearings, conferences, and trials before the WCAB
• Conducting legal research and drafting pleadings
• Communicating directly with clients, claims professionals, and opposing counsel
• Developing litigation strategy and evaluating exposure
• Managing discovery and medical-legal issues

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license
• California Workers' Compensation defense experience preferred
• Strong deposition and litigation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work independently while remaining a team player
• Organized, proactive, and client-focused
