Job summary

The Jonus Group is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster to lead a small team in Overland Park, Kansas. This role focuses on complex claims, litigated files, and ensuring accurate, compliant handling of indemnity benefits.

You will mentor 5–6 adjusters, coordinate investigations, and partner with healthcare providers to obtain records, while upholding regulatory standards and delivering exceptional client service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience handling Workers' Compensation/Indemnity Claims for WI.
• Experience handling litigated files.
• Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and medical terminology.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 5-6 workers' compensation claims adjusters, helping to renew new claims, gathering information, and determining compensability.
• Conduct thorough investigations into the circumstances of workplace injuries, including obtaining medical records and witness statements.
• Calculate and authorize indemnity benefits, including temporary total disability, permanent partial disability, and vocational rehabilitation benefits.
• Ensure compliance with state workers' compensation laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, documenting all relevant information, communications, and decisions.
