What’s in Store
We're on the lookout for a Workers’ Compensation Claims Supervisor to join our growing team! As a Workers’ Compensation Claims Supervisor, you will be responsible for leadership functions in a claims unit administering Workers' Compensation claims pursuant to the client and state regulations within guidelines of the company and corporate culture.

This role is a full-time, remote position. Florida residency preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the oversight and leadership of claims specialists to ensure company, client, and state procedures, rules, and regulations are met
  • In conjunction with the Director of WC Claims, this includes monitoring workflow, creating/recommending procedures for effective running of department, training of claims specialists, generating reports and monitoring outcomes as necessary
  • Build and maintain a rapport with clients to ensure excellent customer service and client retention, ensuring that claims specialists are also building effective relationships with clients for superior customer service and client retention
  • Ensure that claims specialists adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the company and the client, including consistent file documentation in the system, timely compliance of form reporting to the State and CPS requirements, timely transfer of Medical Only to Lost Time files, timely three-point contact, property diary use, and developing and maintaining a progressive plan of action
  • Responsible for the effective and proactive leadership of staff within the unit, including timely and effective performance management, monitoring attendance and other personnel-related functions, in conjunction with the manager
  • Maintain proper and current supervisor diary ensuring proper oversight of daily legal mail as well as timely and appropriate completion of supervisor reviews per company policy
  • Ensure QC audit scores on all job functions are maintained by claim specialists to meet the performance standards
  • Monitor claims specialists to ensure proper and timely electronic filing for EDI compliance, timely and accurate calculation of benefits and payments, timely and accurate reserving, excess reporting, and subrogation handling
  • Authorize and review all aspects of reserves and reserves changes, ensuring system documentation
  • Maintain frequent contact with employers, injured workers, attorneys and doctors
  • Review files for settlement, ensuring system documentation and adherence to company and client-specific procedures
  • Responsible for review of all closing
  • Coordinate and attend status reviews with clients as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills, knowledge & expertise

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience handling Workers’ Compensation claims, with a consistent high level of performance and achievement
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Active Florida All Lines Adjuster license
  • Maintain CEU credits for FL All Lines Adjuster license
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management position
  • Proactive, independent, dependable, and takes initiative with consistent follow through
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills conducted in a timely manner with diverse audiences
  • Superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Excellent team player with interpersonal skills
  • High level attention to detail with ability to utilize decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of working collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
  • Exhibit discretion with sensitive and confidential information
  • Display a comfort level working with key people at all levels within an organization
