Job summary

ZA Lawyers is expanding in California and seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to lead the WC practice. You will manage a full CA WC caseload, appear before WCAB, conduct depositions, hearings, and trials, and shape litigation strategy to achieve favorable results for injured workers.

Qualifications

• Active member of the California State Bar.
• Minimum 3 years of California Applicant Workers' Compensation experience preferred.
• Experience independently managing a litigation caseload.
• Strong negotiation and courtroom skills.
• Exceptional client service skills.
• Organized, proactive, and solution-oriented.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Experience using case management software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full California Applicant Workers' Compensation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Appear before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
• Conduct depositions, hearings, MSCs, and trials.
• Evaluate and develop litigation strategy.
• Negotiate settlements.
• Maintain strong client relationships.
• Collaborate with the firm's Personal Injury and Employment Law departments on overlapping matters.
• Assist in developing workflows, policies, and best practices for the Workers' Compensation Department.
