With a JD and active Illinois license, you will manage cases from intake to resolution, conduct thorough research, draft documents, negotiate settlements, and appear at IWCC hearings. A compassionate, persistent approach and commitment to justice for clients are essential.

Qualifications

• JD degree required and active IL licensure.
• Experience in workers' compensation law is preferred.
• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills are essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients on workers' compensation claims and assess merits.
• Manage cases from start to finish ensuring deadlines are met.
• Conduct legal research and stay current on WC laws.
• Draft pleadings, motions, petitions, and settlements.
• Negotiate with insurers and opposing counsel for favorable settlements.
• Represent clients at IWCC hearings, trials, and appeals.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and other parties.
• Explore mediation or ADR to expedite resolutions.
