Job summary

Haight, Brown & Bonesteel LLP, a well-established civil defense litigation firm, seeks an attorney for its Workers’ Compensation practice. Position available in Los Angeles or other CA offices (Irvine, San Diego, Walnut Creek, Sacramento).

The candidate will handle all aspects of WC litigation, including depositions, WCAB appearances, and negotiations of cases and liens, with a base salary of $155,000–$195,000 plus a $20,000 annual bonus for high billable-hour performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in workers' compensation litigation on defense or applicant side.
• Familiarity with WCAB procedures and California WC laws.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of workers' compensation litigation, including depositions and appearances at WCAB.
• Take responsibility for cases of varying complexity.
• Communicate effectively with clients and develop strategies for efficient resolutions.
• Negotiate and settle cases and liens; draft pleadings and reports.
• Depose applicants and physicians.

Haight, Brown & Bonesteel LLP, a well-established civil defense litigation firm with offices throughout California, seeks an attorney to add to the team in our Workers’ Compensation practice group. This position can be in either our Los Angeles office or our other offices in Irvine, San Diego, Walnut Creek or Sacramento.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation including taking depositions and making appearances at the WCAB
• Assume responsibility for cases at all levels of complexity
• Communicate effectively with clients
• Develop strategies leading to efficient resolution of cases
• Negotiate and settle cases-in-chief as well as liens
• Draft pleadings and reports
• Depose applicants and physicians

Qualifications:

• Experience in WC on either the defense or applicant side
• Familiarity with the WCAB procedures and the California Workers’ Compensation laws

Annual base salary: $155,000 to $195,000, set by demonstrated ability and level of responsibility rather than tenure, plus a $20,000 annual bonus for attorneys who exceed the firm’s quarterly billable hour requirements.
