Job summary

Haight Brown & Bonesteel LLP is a well-established civil defense litigation firm seeking an attorney to join the Workers’ Compensation practice in California. The role can be based in Irvine or another CA office (San Diego, Los Angeles, Walnut Creek, or Sacramento).

The attorney will handle all aspects of WC litigation, including depositions and WCAB appearances, communicate with clients, and develop strategies for efficient case resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience in workers’ compensation on either defense or applicant side.
• Familiarity with the WCAB procedures and California workers’ compensation laws.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation including depositions and appearances at WCAB.
• Assume responsibility for cases at all levels of complexity.
• Communicate effectively with clients.
• Develop strategies leading to efficient resolution of cases.
• Negotiate and settle cases-in-chief as well as liens.
• Draft pleadings and reports.
• Depose applicants and physicians.

Haight, Brown & Bonesteel LLP, a well-established civil defense litigation firm with offices throughout California, seeks an attorney to add to the team in our Workers’ Compensation practice group. This position can be in either our Irvine office or our other offices in San Diego, Los Angeles, Walnut Creek or Sacramento.

Responsibilities:

• Handle all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation including taking depositions and making appearances at the WCAB
• Assume responsibility for cases at all levels of complexity
• Communicate effectively with clients
• Develop strategies leading to efficient resolution of cases
• Negotiate and settle cases-in-chief as well as liens
• Draft pleadings and reports
• Depose applicants and physicians

Qualifications:

• Experience in WC on either the defense or applicant side
• Familiarity with the WCAB procedures and the California Workers’ Compensation laws

Annual base salary: $155,000 to $195,000, set by demonstrated ability and level of responsibility rather than tenure, plus a $20,000 annual bonus for attorneys who exceed the firm’s quarterly billable hour requirements.
