Job summary

Trean Corporation is seeking an experienced underwriting auditor to oversee governance and compliance audits focused on workers’ compensation for internal and external offices.

The role requires preparation of detailed audit reports, effective communication with executive stakeholders, and collaboration with regulatory teams to ensure adherence to state rules and contracts. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of Insurance Underwriting experience with workers’ compensation focus.
• Industry designations (ARM, CPCU, CIC or AU) are beneficial.
• Proficient with NCCI, PAAS, or similar resource tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Must be PC proficient: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access; and telecommunication tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage underwriting and regulatory aspects of assigned offices.
• Conduct pre-audit planning and research.
• Audit 8–12 projects annually, including travel budgeting.
• Present audit results to executive stakeholders with clear actions.
• Implement follow-up procedures and management reports for compliance.
• Collaborate with regulatory staff on state rules and contracts.
